Carə tuttə,
Vi annuncio il prossimo seminario MAP:
--> *Speaker:* Francesco Mattesini (Münster University / Max Planck Institute Leipzig)
--> *Data:* Mercoledì 31 Maggio, ore 10
--> *Dove:* Aula Seminari del Dipartimento di Matematica (Pisa) e Online su Gmeet: Francesco Mattesini (seminarimap.wixsite.com) https://seminarimap.wixsite.com/seminarimap/articoli/francesco-mattesini
--> *Titolo:* *From combinatorics to PDE* --> *Abstract:* *The optimal matching problem is a popular random variational problem that received interest in the last 30 years. It was in 2014 that a PDE ansatz introduced by the statistical physics community allowed for explicit description of the cost and its minimizers. In this talk we review the recently introduced PDE approach to the matching problem and discuss some of its applications with a focus on geometrical properties of the optimizer.*
Ricordiamo che questi seminari sono aperti a tuttə: la prima metà del seminario introduce i concetti e gli strumenti necessari per la seconda metà, dedicata agli argomenti di ricerca.
