I shall discuss the normalization and the linearization problems for germs of biholomorphism of several complex variables with an isolated fixed point, starting from the classical Poincare'-Dulac procedure, and then focusing on the case of multi-resonant biholomorphisms, i.e., such that the resonances among the eigenvalues of the differential are generated over N by a finite number of linearly independent multi-indices. I shall give sharp conditions for the existence of basins of attraction where a Fatou coordinate can be defined. Furthermore, we shall obtain a generalization of the Leau-Fatou flower theorem, providing a complete description of the dynamics in a full neighborhood of the fixed point for 1-resonant parabolically attracting holomorphic germs in Poincare'-Dulac normal form. (Joint work with Filippo Bracci and Dmitri Zaitsev).

The conference gives PhD students and post-docs the opportunity to lecture, often for the first time, in front of an international audience. In addition, selected international experts deliver mini-courses on topics at the cutting-edge of important new developments in Algebraic Geometry. Nori ha definito uno schema in gruppi profinito N(X,x_0), il gruppo fondamentale di Nori, con la proprietà che i morfismi da N(X,x_0) a uno schema in gruppi finito G corrispondono a fibrati principali P --> X con gruppo G, con un punto razionale p_0 nell'immagine inversa di x_0 in P. Se k è algebricamente chiuso di caratteristica 0 questo gruppo coincide con il gruppo fondamentale di Grothendieck, ma in altri casi è molto diverso. Il teorema principale di Nori è che la categoria delle rappresentazioni di dimensione finita di N(X,x_0) è equivalente alla categoria dei fibrati vettoriali essenzialmente finiti su X. Applicants are expected to work on low-dimensional topology, including 3-manifolds, hyperbolic geometry, Teichmuller theory, and quantum invariants. The salary is roughly 35.000 euros per year.
