Dear colleagues,
We are organising a summer school on Alexander polynomials at the
University of Nantes (May 30-June 3, 2022). There will be two
mini-courses, one by Fathi Ben-Aribi (Université Catholique de Louvain)
on twisted Alexander polynomials in the context of classical knot theory
and one by Vincent Florens (Université de Pau) on Alexander polynomials
and complex projective curves. We expect to have some contributed talks
by young participants.
The schedule will be pretty light, in order to allow the participants
ample time to work on the material covered in the lectures. Some
familiarity with knot theory and with (very basic) complex projective
geometry will be assumed.
You can find more information on the webpage of the school:
https://www.math.sciences.univ-nantes.fr/~golla/docs/schools/school-alexander2022.htm
. The registration page is here:
https://www.math.sciences.univ-nantes.fr/AlexanderPolynomials/
and the registration deadline is March 30, 2022.
You can contact us at the email address Alexander.Polynomials (at)
univ-nantes.fr.
Could you pass this information on to any PhD student/postdoc, or even
motivated Master student, who might be interested in attending? Funding
is available for students who will be selected to give a talk. However,
should funding be an insurmountable issue, do ask them to get in touch
(Alexander.Polynomials (at) univ-nantes.fr).
Thank you!
The organisers,
Erwan Brugallé, Marco Golla, and François Laudenbach
