buondì,
questa settimana sono in programma due seminari di geometria, sempre alle 14.30 di mercoledì e giovedì. Siete tutti invitati.
MERCOLEDI' 13 MARZO 2013
SEMINARI DI GEOMETRIA 14:30-15:30, Sala Seminari (Dip. Matematica) The hyperbolic torsion polynomial and a conjecture of Dunfield-Friedl-Jackson Takayuki Morifuji (Keio University)
Abstract:
The hyperbolic torsion polynomial was introduced by Dunfield, Friedl and Jackson, and they conjectured that it determines the knot genus and fibering of hyperbolic knots. In this talk, we show the conjecture is true for twist knots.

GIOVEDI' 14 MARZO 2013
SEMINARI DI GEOMETRIA 14:30-16:00, Sala Seminari (Dip. Matematica) Meridional and non-meridional epimorphisms between knot groups Masaaki Suzuki (Akita University)
Abstract:
An epimorphism between knot groups is called meridional if a meridian is sent to a meridian.
We determined whether there exists a meridional epimorphism between knot groups in case of the knots with up to 11 crossings. In this talk, we show some examples of non-meridional epimorphisms.
