Due to the participation status of Switzerland as non-associated high-income third country in all 2021-calls for projects of the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation “Horizon Europe”, Swiss research entities have been excluded from the ERC Advanced Grants 2021 and the MSCA European Fellowships 2021 which have now been replaced by two national transitional measures:

 

SNSF Advanced Grants

The SNSF Advanced Grants are aimed at leading researchers who wish to conduct innovative, high-risk research in Switzerland. Proposals will be evaluated in two stages by panels of international experts, similar to the panels established for the ERC Advanced Grants

Call opened: 1 October 2021

Mandatory pre-registration: 1 November 2021

Submission deadline: 1 December 2021

 

SNSF Swiss Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Swiss Postdoctoral Fellowships (SPF) are research fellowships in all scientific domains with free choice of topic, addressed to researchers who have not resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Switzerland for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately prior to the submission deadline.

Call opened: 15 October 2021

Mandatory pre-registration: 15 November 2021

Submission deadline: 15 December 2021
