Winterbraids XI --- first new announcement
School on braids and low-dimensional topology
Dijon, December 13-17 2021

Winterbraids XI is the 11th edition of an itinerant school on braids
and low-dimensional topology, that will be held at Institut Mathématique
de
Bourgogne
(Dijon) from December 13th to 17th, 2021.
The school consists on four 3-hours mini-courses:
Gwénaël Massuyeau (Université de Bourgogne): Surgery equivalence
relations for
3-manifolds.
Arunima Ray (Max Planck Institut, Bonn): Slice knots and knot
concordance.
Gerhard Roehrle (Ruhr-Universität, Bochum): On the K(π,1) problem in
hyperplane arrangements.
Ramanujan Santharoubane (Université Paris Sud): Applications of quantum
representations of mapping class groups.
These will be completed by short talks and a poster session devoted to
student
presentations (not necessarily focused on braids or their
generalizations).
The school will start on Monday morning and will end on Thursday at
noon.
On the website of the school, there is a pre-registration form, to be
filled BEFORE 01/10/2021 .
Selected participants will be contacted afterwards to confirm their
registration.
We will support living expenses for all confirmed registered students
and postdocs.
The school will be mainly supported by the Conseil Regional Bourgogne
Franche-Comté,
the Université de Bourgogne, the GDR Tresses
and ANR projects AlMaRe.
