- speaker: Marco Golla (Hungarian Academy of Sciences) - Titolo: Why is Heegaard Floer homology so popular? - Abstract: In this talk I will give my answer this question, trying not to get tangled up with the boring details. I will discuss in some detail the construction of an exotic R^4, and I will introduce some tools that Ozsváth and Szabó used to re-prove the Milnor conjecture, Donaldson's diagonisability theorem and the Thom conjecture.
