Care tutte, cari tutti, segnaliamo da parte degli organizzatori Giulia Bevilacqua, Filippo Paiano e Bozhidar Velichkov, l’evento "Calculus of Variations and Free Boundary Problems: the VAREG edition”. A presto, Giulia Bevilacqua a nome degli organizzatori ________________________________ Dear all, on behalf of the organizers Giulia Bevilacqua, Filippo Paiano, and Bozhidar Velichkov, we announce the event "Calculus of Variations and Free Boundary Problems: the VAREG edition". The workshop will take place on Tuesday, December 9th starting at 9:30, in the Aula Seminari Est of the Department of Informatics (second floor). Directions: Entering through the main entrance of the Department of Informatics (which will be marked with a sign for the workshop), take the stairs on the right. The room is located on the second floor (there will be signs indicating the direction to the room). For info: http://www.velichkov.it/workshop-CVFBP-special.html. We also inform you that on the morning of Wednesday, December 10th, in the same room (starting at 10:00), two seminars will be held by Idriss Mazari-Fouquer (Université Paris-Dauphine) and Giacomo Colombo (ETH Zurich). Please find the titles and abstracts below. See you soon, Giulia Bevilacqua on behalf of the organizers ——————————————— Giacomo Colombo (ETH Zurich) Title: Generic regularity in obstacle-type problems. Abstract: I will talk about results in generic regularity in obstacle-type free boundary problems. I will explain the core ideas of their proofs focusing on generic regularity for the Stefan problem in 4+1 dimensions, and an application of these generic regularity results to β-models. Idriss Mazari-Fouquer (Université Paris-Dauphine) Title: Quantitative inequalities in optimal control theory and convergence of thresholding schemes Abstract: We will give an overview of recent progress in the study of quantitative inequalities for optimal control problems. In particular, we will show how they can be used to obtain convergence results for thresholding schemes, which are of great importance in the simulation of optimal control problems. This is a joint work with A. Chambolle and Y. Privat.
