Carissimi, settimana prossima comincia l'usuale serie di conferenze divulgative sui Nobel (e Abel) assegnati nel 2007. Per chi non lo sapesse, scopo di queste conferenze e' spiegare a un pubblico di non specialisti il motivo per cui la tal persona ha meritato il premio Nobel (o Abel), illustrando per quanto possibile l'importanza e il significato dei risultati da lui/lei/loro ottenuti. Le conferenze si terranno nell'Aula Magna della Facolta' di Scienze, con il programma che vi allego qui sotto. Partecipate numerosi e pubblicizzate l'iniziativa!!! Una delle signore che fa qui da noi (e da voi, credo) le pulizie (sig.ra Vittoria) ha chiesto quanto segue. Qualche tempo fa (se ho ben capito, forse qualche mese fa) uno dei colleghi del vostro dipartimento ha danneggiato la sua bicicletta, avendo ivi lasciato un messaggio. Credo che vi siete parlati, e che la sig.ra Vittoria sia rimasta di telefonare dopo aver fatto aggiustare la bici. Ormai lo ha fatto, ma ha perso nome e telefono del collega. Come da allegato, si puo' fare una sola domanda per dipartimento: chi fosse interessato lo faccia sapere. E' interessante dare un'occhiata ai progetti finanziati l'anno scorso, che si possono trovare all'indirizzo pubblicato sul sito dell'ateneo http://www.fondazionemps.it/ita/docs/Erogazioni2007-9.pdf Non ho fatto il conto dei soldi erogati, ma sono sicuramente una quantita' notevole: 73 pagine di progetti! Si capisce anche perche' l'universita' di Siena fosse a un certo punto al di sopra del 90% e ora risulti invece al di sotto. Per quanto riguarda Pisa come universita' c'e' ben poco se paragonata a Siena e Firenze (e forse e' giusto cosi') ma varrebbe la pena tentare qualcosa: infatti vedo che fra i pochissimi finanziamenti in territorio pisano risultano 25.000 euro dati al Festival Metarock fatto a Pisa, notoriamente una delle priorita' che abbiamo...
