A seguito di alcuni articoli apparsi oggi sui giornali riguardo le classifiche delle universita' (in cui quelle italiane figurano malissimo) ho voluto fare una prova artigianale sulla matematrica usando MathSciNet.
Ho preso gli ultimi 5 anni (2004-2008) e sei riviste generaliste tra le piu' famose:
Ann Math, JAMS, Acta Math, JEMS, Invent Math, SIAM Rev
la colonna "high pubbl" contiene il numero di articoli dei paesi considerati nei 5 anni. Ho anche messo la colonna "pubbl" contenente tutte le pubblicazioni e la colonna "popol. mil" contenente la popolazione in milioni. Vi allego il risultato.
Riconosco che il metodo e' molto rozzo, potete cambiare la scelta delle riviste e rifare i conti se volete, ma sembra che anche in matematica siamo messi male.
