Carə tuttə, Anche questa settimana vi invitiamo al seminario dei Baby Geometri: *Giovedì 21 *Maggio 2026, alle ore 11:15 Presso l'*Aula Seminari* (Dipartimento di Matematica) *Filippo Baroni* (Trinity College Dublin) terrà un seminario dal titolo: *Algorithms for knots* di cui riportiamo l'abstract: In 1954, Alan Turing wrote "No systematic method is yet known by which one can tell whether two knots are the same", calling this a "problem which might well be unsolvable". Today, such systematic methods exist, and yet many questions remain unanswered about the apparently simple problem of distinguishing knots. In this talk, we will give an overview of both historical and recent results, demonstrating how telling knots apart is, to this day, still very hard.
