Matematica) SEMINARIO Concordance groups of links Brendan Owens (University of Glasgow) Abstract: In 1957 Fox and Milnor observed that the set of classical knots gives rise to a group by taking concordance classes, and the concordance group C of knots has been an important object of study ever since. A natural question is to find an inclusion of C into a link concordance group, induced by the inclusion of knots into links. I will discuss a couple of approaches to this problem.
