terrà un seminario dal titolo:
“How to define the symbol of a Fourier Integral Operator?”
Abstract:
In 1971, Hörmander introduced the Fourier Integral
Operators associated to homogeneous phase functions, and defined
their principal symbol
as a section of a line bundle (the Maslov bundle). However, this bundle,
abstractly defined via its transition functions, has no concrete meaning
and the definition is strictly linked to the homogeneity of the
phases. I developed more recently an extended theory of Fourier Integral Operator
associated to non necessarily homogeneous canonical transformations. In that context, their
symbol appears naturally as sections of a more concrete bundle, made of metaplectic operators.
The comparison between the two points of view,
in the case of (almost)
homogeneous phase functions leads to a new construction of
the Maslov bundle and of the symbols of FIO.
Tutti gli interessati sono invitati a partecipare.
