Terrà  un seminario dal titolo:

“The pro-solvable fundamental group of an affine algebraic curve”

Abstract

The (pro-finite) fundamental group of an algebraic curve, say over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic zero, is well known.

It depends only of the genus g of the curve, and of the number r of "holes", if r is at least one, it is free on 2g+r-1 generators. The proof of this result, however, relies heavily on transcendental arguments, especially comparison theorems.

In this talk I will present a joint work with Michel Emsalem containing an algebraic proof of a weak version of this fact where we consider instead the pro-solvable fundamental group of an affine algebraic curve.
