“Arithmetic aspects of hyperbolicity”

Abstract:

Given a quasi-projective algebraic variety defined  over a number field, a central problem in Diophantine geometry is the determination of   geometric conditions on the variety under which one can prove that its set of integral  points (with respect to any ring of S-integers) is always degenerate. Vojta and Campana proposed some sufficient or necessary conditions; in this talk we shall show some cases where these conjectures have been  proved and present some concrete open problems.
