Betti numbers of semi-algebraic sets defined by partly quadratic systems of polynomials.

Abstract:
A recent result obtained with S. Basu and D. Pasechnik and interpolating between the classical semi-algebraic case and the purely quadratic case will be described. A list of open problems in algorithmic semi-algebraic geometry will be discussed.
