Dear Colleagues,

This is a reminder of the session NP1.1 Session Mathematics of Planet Earth to be held as part of the upcoming General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (Vienna, Austria, 8-13 April 2018).

Taking inspiration from the Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013 initiative, this sessions aims at bringing together contributions from the growing interface between the geophysical, the mathematical, and the theoretical physical communities. The Richardson Medal lecture (Tim Palmer) and the Outstanding Early Career Scientist lecture (Davide Faranda) will take place during the session. As a result, the session will take place in a bigger room than usual and also will attract a broader audience. So please consider this session for your submissions with a very general interest (still mathematical and/or nonlinear) if you want to reach a wider NP (and others) community.

We invite talks and poster both related to specific applications as well as more speculative and theoretical investigations. We particularly encourage early career researchers to present their interdisciplinary work in this session.

DEADLINE for receipt of abstracts is 10 January 2018, 13:00 CET.

Abstract submission

Best wishes,
Valerio Lucarini (Convener), Jochen Broecker , Dan Crisan , Darryl Holm , Tobias Kuna  (Co-Conveners)
