We invite outstanding scholars to express their interest for a 2 years post-doc position at the MOX laboratory of the Department of Mathematics of Politecnico di Milano within the activities of Spoke 3 of the ANTHEM project (AdvaNced Technologies for Human-centrEd Medicine). 

Requirements

We seek candidates with a strong commitment to applied research and the aspiration to contribute to ANTHEM project. Candidates must hold a PhD in statistics, data science, mathematics or related fields, preferably have teaching experience, and a relevant record of publications and/or research projects.
Primary attention will be given to profiles showing expertise in coding with R or python.
Ideal candidates will show a passionate drive to engage in Politecnico di Milano’s dynamic and stimulating academic environment and contribute to its further development. They will have research experience on Statistics and Data Science and intend to pursue research projects in the field, with a focus on: Statistical Learning, Analysis of Complex Data, Interaction between Bioengineering and Statistics.

Activity, Role and Responsibilities

The position holders are expected to undertake rigorous and innovative research, publish in high quality international journals, and provide academic assistance or leadership in research activities. They are also expected to contribute to the ANTHEM community at large.
The post-doc position is for a two-year fixed-term contract. Appointments are full-time and the salary is competitive (36Keuro/y).
Main focus of the project is the analysis of multivariate time series recording vital signals and pollutants exposure through innovative wearable devices. Innovative models and algorithms for multivariate spatially correlated time series will be developed, together with method for estimating their prediction uncertainty based on innovative resampling methods like conformal prediction.

About the group

The research will be conducted in an interdisciplinary group composed by statisticians, bioengineers and mathematicians, across the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Electronics, Informatics and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano.
Reference person for activities of Spoke 3 within ANTHEM project is Prof. Andrea Aliverti, Department of Electronics, Informatics and Bioengineering.
Reference persons for the contract will be Proff. Francesca Ieva and Simone Vantini, from Department of Mathematics.
