ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP (OR PROFESSORSHIP) of Statistics (Statistical and Population Genomics)

 

DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS in association with a Tutorial Fellowship in Mathematics at Corpus Christi College

 

Salary from £44,620 p.a. plus additional substantive benefits

 

Applications are invited for an Associate Professorship (or Professorship) in Statistics, to be held in the Department of Statistics, in association with a Tutorial Fellowship in Mathematics at Corpus Christi College, with effect from 1st September 2015. The post is full-time and upon completion of a successful review, permanent.

 

You will be an outstanding individual who is, or has the potential to become, a leader in statistical or population genetics. Your research interests will build upon those of current members of the department. You have a doctorate in Statistics or a related discipline, and an outstanding research record, as well as the potential to attract research funding. You will have the skills and enthusiasm to lecture at undergraduate and advanced graduate level, over a wide range of topics within Mathematical Sciences, including Statistics and Probability, provide supervision of students and undertake tutorial teaching. You will be based at the Department of Statistics, 1 South Parks Road, Oxford and at Corpus Christi College, Merton Street, Oxford. The Departmental teaching workload will be at a reduced level for the first few years. The Department is actively seeking to provide an excellent work life balance for all of its employees. 

 

This is an exciting time for the Department of Statistics.  In December 2015 we will move into a new home in a prominent building in the centre of Oxford. This move will further enhance our vibrant research environment.
