Dear Random subscribers,

this is a friendly reminder that Random is a list of announcements about events of interest in probability, such as conferences, seminars, open positions, etc, but not a forum of discussion. Random has always been an open mailing list, in particular message submission is non-moderated. For this reason, it is important that all members adhere to the simple rules of the list.

We take the occasion to remind you that an archive of all messages posted to Random since 2013 is available at the following link:

that you can also find at the bottom of any message posted to Random.

Whenever you send a message to Random, if you don't receive the message yourself (which sometimes can happen, due to a bug), you can check the above page to be sure that the message has been posted and thus avoid multiple postings.

We also invite all subscribers to avoid the use of "heavy attachments" and, whenever possible, to replace them with links to resources available online. We remind that the list is currently congfigurated with a message size limit of 4 MB.
