In this talk we construct the negatively mixed distribution and derives its properties, including the cumulative distribution function, raw moment, moment generating function, and characteristic function. Furthermore, we provide special case, the negatively mixed exponential distribution and its properties afterwards. We also propose the parameter estimation based on the method of moments and the maximum likelihood methods. The performance of estimators was studied through the Monte Carlo simulations.
