Buongiorno a tutti, sono il nuovo coordinatore del dottorato in matematica di Padova. Su sollecitazione dei nostri dottorandi chiedo se potete brevemente descrivere le regole per i corsi che la vostra scuola adotta.
Nel nostro caso, le regole sono:
Courses. Students are required, within the first two years, to follow and pass the exam of - At least 2 courses of the Program (~24 hours each) (questi sono corsi in teoria aperti a tutti); - other courses, in addition to the two above, chosen from the catalogue, with total commitment of at least 56 hours. - Credits may also be assigned for courses taken in other departments or universities, on a case-by-case basis, upon request. You need to apply. - Credits for exams of Master’s Courses will be quantified on a case-by-case basis by the Faculty Board, upon request. You need to apply. - "Soft skills courses" are recommended and at least one is mandatory. Examples: 1) participating in popularization activities (KidsUniversity, VenetoNight, ...); 2) A meting on "My experience in preparing an academic CV"; 3) A meeting on "My experience in preparing an application for a post doctoral position"; 4) a course organized by the library on databases and on open access rules. Note: A half of the requirements is due within the first year.
NB: molti esami non sono un pro forma. Devono anche dare un seminario rivolto a tutti i dottorandi, scrivendo una nota di circa 10 pagine.
