Strong candidates with a background in geometric topology, hyperbolic geometry, Teichmüller theory, differential geometry (with a particular focus on the theory of submanifolds) and/or geometric analysis, and willing to work on the topics of my ERC project “GENERATE” (https://www.generate.unito.it/) are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is 31st August 2026 at 3pm CEST. Applications must be submitted through the following website (unfortunately, only in Italian), where the official call can also be downloaded: https://lavorainateneo.unito.it/details.html?id=31f07ce2-cad4-465b-97fe-2fb… Applicants are required to upload a CV, a research project of at most 6 pages, and at most 5 scientific publications. Some details about the position(s) follow: - While the official call is for one position, there may be scope to recruit additional candidates through the same selection procedure. - The starting date can be discussed at a later stage, but is expected to be between January and September 2027. - Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in the autumn, and I expect to inform the selected candidate(s) no later than November/December 2026. - Unfortunately, the type of contract offered through this call requires candidates to obtain their PhD within six months of the opening of the call, i.e. by the end of January 2027. Current PhD students who are interested in these positions but do not meet such requirement are encouraged to contact me directly by email, as it may be possible to proceed with recruitment under a different type of contract. Announcement: LiT IV Landing in Topology (Pisa, October 12-15)

Dear all, We are pleased to announce the workshop: LiT IV - Landing in Topology, which will take place at Centro De Giorgi in Pisa (Italy), from October 12 to October 15, 2026. This is the conference website: https://indico.sns.it/event/142/overview This will be the fourth edition of a recurring event in low-dimensional topology and geometric group theory. Our aim is to gather young researchers and PhD students in the area, enabling them to discuss and exchange fruitful ideas in an inclusive and friendly atmosphere. The conference will feature nine research talks and two mini-courses. Junior participants are encouraged to expose their work in a flash talk session. Limited funds are available for the accommodation of registered participants. The deadline to apply for financial support is July 20.
