Buondì, Annuncio un seminario di Leone Slavich che si terrà a Pavia, ma seguibile anche on line su Zoom (link in fondo alla mail) Bruno ---- Speaker: Leone Slavich Orario: mercoledì 9 febbraio alle 14:30 Titolo: Totally geodesic immersions of hyperbolic manifolds Abstract: The study of totally geodesic immersions between (complete, finite-volume) hyperbolic manifolds is a classical problem in the field of hyperbolic geometry. There are two main approaches to this problem which often interplay with each other: 1) Given a hyperbolic manifold N, determine the hyperbolic manifolds in which N can be immersed geodesically; 2) Given a hyperbolic manifold, determine its totally geodesic immersed submanifolds. We will show how it is possible to build totally geodesic immersed submanifolds in a hyperbolic manifold M using finite subgroups in the commensurator of M. We will call the subspaces arising from this construction "finite centralise subspaces" (or fc-subspaces) and use them to provide an arithmeticity criterion in terms of their finiteness/non-finiteness. In the case of arithmetic hyperbolic manifolds we will show how to characterise all totally geodesic immersions through the analysis of certain algebraic invariants: the adjoint trace field (which is an algebraic number field) and the ambient group (an algebraic group defined over the adjoint trace field). There will be two mini-courses, one by Fathi Ben-Aribi (Université Catholique de Louvain) on twisted Alexander polynomials in the context of classical knot theory and one by Vincent Florens (Université de Pau) on Alexander polynomials and complex projective curves. We expect to have some contributed talks by young participants. The schedule will be pretty light, in order to allow the participants ample time to work on the material covered in the lectures. Some familiarity with knot theory and with (very basic) complex projective geometry will be assumed. Il seminario si svolgerà in Aula Seminari dalle 15 alle 16. L'oratrice è Giovanna Carnovale (Università di Padova). — Titolo: Approximations of a Nichols algebra from a geometric point of view Abstract: The talk is based on an ongoing joint project with Francesco Esposito and Lleonard Rubio y Degrassi. Nichols (shuffle) algebras are a family of graded Hopf algebras (in a braided monoidal category) which includes symmetric algebras, exterior algebras and the positive part of quantized enveloping algebras. They are crucial in the classification of (pointed) Hopf algebras. However, it is very difficult to describe their relations or to estimate their dimensions in general and new tools are very welcome. We will exploit an equivalence due to Kapranov and Schechtman between a category of graded bialgebras in a braided monoidal category V and the category of factorizable systems of perverse sheaves on all symmetric products Sym^n(C) with values in V. I will describe the factorizable perverse sheaves counterpart of some algebraic constructions, including the n-th approximation of a graded bialgebra. L'oratore è Andrea Appel (Università di Parma). — Titolo: Generalized Schur-Weyl duality for quantum affine symmetric pairs and orientifold KLR algebras Abstract: In the work of Kang, Kashiwara, and Kim, the Schur–Weyl duality between quantum affine algebras and affine Hecke algebras is extended to certain Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier (KLR) algebras, whose defining com- binatorial datum is given by the poles of the normalized R–matrix on a set of representations. In this talk, I will describe a boundary version of this construction, providing a Schur–Weyl duality between quantum symmetric pairs of affine type and KLR algebras arising from a framed quiver with an involution. With respect to the Kang-Kashiwara-Kim construction, the extra combinatorial datum we take into account is given by the poles of the k–matrix (that is, a solution of the reflection equation) of the quantum symmetric pair. This is based on joint work in progress with T.
