SPEAKER: Francesco Morandin AFFILIATION: Università di Parma TITLE: Anomalous dissipation in a stochastic inviscid shell model of turbulence ABSTRACT: Shell models of turbulence are infinite systems of coupled nonlinear equations with exponentially-growing coefficients. They are thought to be able to capture some of the statistical properties and features of three-dimensional turbulence, while presenting a structure much simpler than Navier-Stokes and Euler equations.
