Dear all, we are writing to inform you about the 3rd Verona Early Career Workshop in Economics and Mathematical Finance, which we are organizing at the Department of Economics at the University of Verona and which will take place on May 12–13, 2026, in Verona. The workshop is aimed at PhD students and early-career researchers (PhD obtained no more than 2 years ago) and seeks to foster the exchange of ideas among young scholars. This year, for the first time, the workshop explicitly opens to topics in Mathematical Finance and Statistics, alongside the traditional areas of economics. The keynote speaker will be Erich Battistin (University of Maryland). The abstract submission deadline is February 28, 2026. Buongiorno a tutti, Vorremmo segnalarvi che venerdì prossimo (28 Novembre) alle 14:30 in aula 2BC30 (Torre Archimede, Università di Padova) ci sarà un seminario per il ciclo di seminari in Probabilità e Finanza di: Lucio Galeati (Università dell'Aquila) <https://sites.google.com/view/lucio-galeati-math/home> https://sites.google.com/view/lucio-galeati-math/home Title: Anomalous dissipation and anomalous regularization in the Kraichnan model of turbulence Date: November 28, 2025, at 14:30, 2BC30 Abstract: In the 60s Kraichnan proposed a synthetic model for passive scalar turbulence, consisting of a scalar advected by a random Gaussian velocity field, white in time and -Holder continuous in space. Despite its simplicity, this SPDE displays anomalous dissipation of energy, spontaneous stochasticity and intermittency, which are also expected for more realistic turbulent fluids. At the same time, solutions to the inviscid SPDE are unique and can be recovered by vanishing viscosity and mollification schemes. In this talk I will present some recent further understandings on this model: i) solutions to the transport equation with initial data display anomalous regularisation and almost gain Sobolev regularity , but not better; ii) solutions to the continuity equation starting from Dirac deltas instantaneously gain Lebesgue integrability, due to the diffusive behaviour of Lagrangian particle splitting, and their variance at small times grows like . The three-day workshop Advances in Risk Modelling at ETH Zurich on July 6-8 2026 will showcase recent advances in risk modeling and quantification. A major theme will be to identify and address challenges posed by complex data structures, rare and extreme events, and intricate forms of dependence arising in these areas. Dear colleagues, We recall that the registration procedure for the workshop “Anomalous Transport and Anomalous Diffusion”, which will take place at Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa on March 16-20, 2026, is about to end. Registrations will close on the 20th of February. This workshop is primarily intended for researchers and students in Probability, Mathematical Physics, and Statistical Mechanics. The workshop will focus on anomalous diffusion and transport phenomena, particularly addressing topics such as the emergence of superdiffusion and subdiffusion from scaling limits, as well as their connection to space/time fractional equations. The program comprises three mini-courses, each consisting of six one-hour lectures, supplemented by a series of seminars of around 45 minutes given by distinguished national and international experts in the field. Il giorno 11 Febbraio 2026, alle ore 11:30, in aula G, del Dipartimento di Matematica e Applicazioni R. Caccioppoli, il Prof. Nicos Georgiou, School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, University of Sussex, terrà il seguente seminario: Title: Mean-field limit and parameter estimation for contagion dynamics on higher-order structures. Abstract: Classical models of contagion epidemics have graph based representations where the nodes represent the population and infections occur from an infected individual to a susceptible individual via a network link between them. At the same time, healing mechanisms try to fight the epidemic at node level. The simple descriptions of these representations also underscore their limitations, since the propagation of contagions in complex systems often involves repeated or simultaneous stimuli that individuals receive from their social contacts (such as their work or household). One may mechanistically encode these non-linear effects into contagion models by considering interactions that go beyond simple pairwise connections, by using hypergraphs rather than graphs. In this talk we will see the role higher-order interactions can play in the behaviour of the model when a rigorous mean-field can be obtained. Furthermore, we will discuss some inference techniques for the parameters of the epidemic (rates of infection) when only partial information on the type of infection is available and with only a single realisation of the epidemic curve as a datum. It will comprise three lecture series on mathematical models and techniques arising in plasma physics, and aims to bring together mathematicians and physicists with complementary expertise in these areas. The speaker is Rahma Yasmina Moulay Hachemi (University of Saida Dr. Moulay Tahar) with the talk: Title: The time-fractional stochastic heat equation driven by time-space white noise Abstract: We study the stochastic time-fractional stochastic heat equation: ∂α/∂tα Y(t, x) = λΔY (t, x) + σ W(t, x); (t, x) ∈ (0,∞) × Rd , (0.1), where d ∈ N = {1, 2, ...} and ∂α/∂tα is the Caputo derivative of order α ∈ (0, 2), and λ > 0 and σ ∈ R are given constants. We consider the equation in the sense of distribution, and we find an explicit expression for the S-valued solution Y (t, x), where S is the space of tempered distributions. Following the terminology of Y. Hu [1], we say that the solution is mild if Y (t, x) ∈ L2(P) for all t, x. It is well-known that in the classical case with α = 1, the solution is mild if and only if the space dimension d = 1. We prove that if α ∈ (1, 2) the solution is mild if d = 1 or d = 2. Segnalo il seguente seminario, che si terrà Martedì prossimo in Sapienza. *Martedì 10 Febbraio, ore 14:00,* Sala di Consiglio, Dipartimento di Matematica, Sapienza Università di Roma *Speaker:* Georgios Athanasopoulos (Università Roma Tre) *Title:* Around the exact solutions of the 2D classical and 1D quantum Ising models. *Abstract:* I will review some recent developments about the 2D classical Ising model focusing on the method of Kac and Ward. In joint work with Daniel Ueltschi, we have extended this method to systems with negative coupling constants. As a consequence, we observe that the Cimasoni--Duminil-Copin--Li equation for the critical temperature, originally proved for general bi-periodic planar lattices with positive couplings, remains valid in a broader setting. Furthermore, I will discuss the possibility of extending this method to study the energy correlations for coupling constants of arbitrary sign.
