As part of a 6-month thematic program on quantitative risk management, the Centre de recherches mathématiques (MontrÃ©al, Canada) will hold a workshop on "Dependence Modeling Tools for Risk Management" October 2-5, 2017. This workshop will provide a unique opportunity to take stock of recent developments, identify new challenges, and foster collaboration with some 20 leading researchers in dependence modeling from academia and industry (see list below). One poster session has been scheduled, as well as two sessions of short lightning talks, so that trainees can introduce themselves and their work to the entire audience. The chair in nonlinear analysis at the University of Augsburg has an opening for one full-time position as Research Associate, TVL-E 13, (PostDoc) preferably in one of the following areas: stochastic analysis, stochastic partial differential equations, stochastic dynamics, or other fields related to the research group in Augsburg. The term of appointment is until March 31st 2019. The position has a teaching load of 5 hours per week, which could be done in English. Annuncio Seminario di Probabilita, Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa Martedi 11 aprile, ore 14:30, Aula Mancini Seminario di Probabilita’ SPEAKER: Michael Röckner (Bielefeld University) TITLE: Global solutions to random 3D vorticity equations for small initial data ABSTRACT: One proves the existence and uniqueness in $(L^p(\mathbb{R}^3)^3 , 3/2 </p/<2,$ of a global mild solution to random vorticity equations associated to stochastic 3/D/ Navier-Stokes equations with linear multiplicative Gaussian noise of convolution type, for sufficiently small initial vorticity. This resembles some earlier deterministic results of T. Kato and are obtained by treating the equation in vorticity form and reducing the latter to a random nonlinear parabolic equation. The solution has maximal regularity in the spatial variables and is weakly continuous in $(L^3 \cap L^{\frac{3p}{4p - 6})^3$with respect to the time variable. Furthermore, we obtain the pathwise continuous dependence of solutions with respect to the initial data. This is joint work with Viorel Barbu. Tutti gli interessati sono invitati a partecipare. As a consequence, we will then see that one can derive a change-of-variable formula in distribution, where the correction term is a stochastic integral with respect to a Brownian motion that is independent of the underlying fractional Brownian motion.
