On behalf of the Scientific Committee of the "B. de Finetti Risk Seminars, Milano Lectures on the Mathematical Theory of Economics and Finance”, we are glad to invite you to participate at the following Lecture which will take place on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 17.30 (see all details below). *Walter Schachermayer* Universität Wien *Title:* Martingale Transport, De March-Touzi paving, and stretched Brownian motion in ℝd *Abstract:* In classical optimal transport, the contributions of Benamou–Brenier and Mc-Cann regarding the time-dependent version of the problem are cornerstones of the field and form the basis for a variety of applications in other mathematical areas. For µ,ν probability measures on ℝd, increasing in convex order, stretched Brownian motion [1] provides an analogue for the martingale version of this problem. In dimension d=1 it was shown in [2] that any martingale transport decomposes into at most countably many invariant intervals and that this decomposition is universal. Extensions of this result to d≥2 were studied in [4], [5], [3]. We show that the dual optimization problem attached to a stretched Brownian motion induces the universal De March–Touzi paving [3] of ℝd. Joint work with M. Beiglböck, J. Backhoff, and B. Tschiderer. Dear Colleague, I would be grateful if you could bring to the attention of your best students the new edition 2022-2026 of the PhD Program in Economics offered by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice. The PhD program has a duration of four years and 7 positions are available for the next cohort starting in September '22. Six of them come with a scholarship (around 15,300 € per year), one is reserved for non-Italian applicants holding an equivalent scholarship covering four years. Six PhD scholarships funded by the University of Padova are available at University of Padova for candidates interested in the area of *Statistical Sciences (start of activities: October 1st, 2022).* *Eligibility* The scholarship competition is open to applicants of any age or citizenship, holding a 2nd cycle degree or a single cycle degree from an Italian university or an equivalent qualification from other countries of at least four years’ duration (applicants can get their qualification no later than 30th September 2022). Admission is decided on the basis of qualifications and an interview. *Grant awarded* The annual grant will be of euros **16,243.00* *(gross amount). Dear Colleagues, We would like to announce the forthcoming International Workshop «Random Fields and Their Applications», dedicated to the memory of the prominent Ukrainian mathematician Professor Mykhailo Yadrenko, on occasion on his 90th anniversary. Invited speakers from around the world will present the latest achievements in the theory of random fields, that is the area of research ideas of Professor Mykhailo Yadrenko. Scientific talks are scheduled for April 14 from 12:00 to 19:00 Kyiv time. Dear all, We are glad to announce the 3rd edition of the Spring Colloquium on Probability and Finance, held at the University of Padova, on 28-29 April 2022. The Colloquium will bring together researchers in stochastic analysis and mathematical finance, featuring invited plenary talks by leading scholars in the field as well as rising talents. This edition of the Colloquium is dedicated to Professor Wolfgang J. Runggaldier, on the occasion of his 80th birthday. Several talks will highlight recent advances on topics on which Wolfgang made fundamental contributions over the course of his intense career. Master Mathématiques et Apprentissage Statistique all'Università di Versailles

Inoltro questa informazione su un nuovo Master che partirà il prossimo Settembre all’Université Versailles Saint Quentin<http://www.uvsq.fr/>. A chi fosse interessato posso mandare i flyers sotto menzionati Saluti, Cecilia Da: Ester Mariucci <ester.mariucci(a)uvsq.fr> stiamo aprendo un nuovo Master (M1+M2) a Versailles. Si chiama Mathématiques et Apprentissage Statistique, Math&AS. Fa parte della Graduate School dell’Università Paris-Saclay ed é un “Master Recherche ouvert à l’entreprise”. Per essere chiari : é teorico ma non tanto quanto i master di Orsay, permette di andare subito a lavorare ma non é un master in alternance. Durante l’M1 i corsi sono teorici - ma comunque globalmente più di statistica applicata che matematica - (statistica matematica, machine Learning, modelli lineari, ottimizzazione, analisi dei dati, etc…) e c’é un po’ di informatica. Il secondo anno ci saranno dei corsi fatti da data scientists, e poi vari corsi avanzati sempre di machine learning e statistica. L’insegnamento é in francese, ci sono 2 stages di sei mesi ciascuno, uno per anno (quindi bisogna davvero parlare bene francese). Dato che la formazione debutta a Settembre cerco di diffondere la notizia il più possibile…non si sa mai che tu conosca studenti francofoni (o che se la cavano sufficientemente bene) potenzialmente interessati! He is interested in probabilistic modeling and statistical inference for the analysis of spatio-temporal data // //* * *Abstract:* The useful information carried by spatio-temporal data is often outlined by geometric structures and patterns. Filaments or clusters induced by galaxy positions in our Universe are such an example. Two situations are to be considered. First, the pattern of interest is hidden in the data set, hence the pattern should be detected. Second, the structure to be studied is observed, so relevant characterization of it should be done. Probabilistic modelling is one of the approaches that allows to furnish answers to these questions. This is done by developing unitary methodologies embracing simultaneously three directions: modelling, simulation and inference. This talk presents the use of marked point processes applied to the detection and to the characterization of such structures.
