Moment map and application to total curvature of real algebraic curves.

Abstract :

I would like to explain some properties of moment maps, such as the behaviour of the image of a pencil of hyperplanes. One can use these properties to have information on the total curvature of the real algebraic curves obtained by the combinatorial Viro method. In particular I will construct families of curves maximal with respect to the total curvature. One can also generalize some of the results to surfaces. http://www.dm.unipi.it/~bertrand/Seminari.html
