Geometry and topology on voting: an application of the Arrangement theory in social choice

Abstract: Marengo, Pasquali and Settepanella present a model of object construction in majority voting and show that, in general, by appropriate changes of such bundles, different social outcomes may be obtained. They construct a model of individual preferences and social aggregation based on hyperplane arrangements. By using this model they prove their assertions retrieving also a generalization of the Arrow's Impossibility Theorem.
