ANNOUNCEMENT

Birational Geometry of Varieties Pisa, May 5-7 2006

Organizers: Ciro Ciliberto (Roma - Tor Vergata), Rita Pardini (Pisa).

The Conference will take place in the Aula Magna of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pisa. The conference will start on the morning of the 5th of May, so participants are supposed to arrive on the 4th of May. There will be about 10 main lectures in order to leave room for a few short communications, posters and informal discussions. The following have agreed to give a main lecture:

Participation in the workshop is free, but participants are required to register on line on the web site of the conference http://www.mat.uniroma3.it/GVA/BGAV/index.html not later that January 31, 2006.

Unfortunately the funds available for the workshop are limited, and therefore it will not be possible to contribute to the expenses of the participants.

Participants are expected to arrange their own accomodation. The speakers will stay at Royal Victoria Hotel, which has set aside some rooms that can be booked directly by the participants not later than March 20, 2006. Details on this offer, as well as general information on accomodation in Pisa are available on the conference web site.
