*“Data science for protein structures and molecular dynamics”*
*Abstract:*
In this talk, we investigate the structure of proteins by considering the
network associated with the adjacent amino acids according to a given
cutoff. This network allows us to understand the protein structures and to
study interfaces in polymers. We also use a dynamical version of these
networks to study the allosteric paths in proteins. Indeed, elucidation of
the allosteric pathways in proteins is a computational challenge that
strongly benefits from combination of atomistic molecular dynamics (MD)
simulations and coarse-grained analysis of the complex dynamical network of
chemical interactions based on graph theory. Here, we introduce and assess
the performances of the dynamical perturbation network analysis of
allosteric pathways in a prototypical V-type allosteric enzyme. Dynamical
atomic contacts obtained from MD simulations are used to weight the
allosteric protein graph, which involves an extended network of contacts
perturbed by the effector binding in the allosteric site. The outcome
showed good agreement with previously reported theoretical and experimental
extended studies and it provided recognition of new potential allosteric
spots that can be exploited in future mutagenesis experiments. Overall, the
dynamical perturbation network analysis proved to be a powerful
computational tool, complementary to other network-based approaches that
can assist the full exploitation of allosteric phenomena for advances in
protein engineering and rational drug design.

*“Strictly outward minimizing hulls, p-capacities and isoperimetric
inequalities”*
*Abstract:*
We investigate the notion of strictly outward minimizing hull and prove
that under natural geometric assumptions on the ambient manifold the it
gives a maximal volume solution to the least area problem with obstacle.
Moreover, we recover the value of its area as limit of p-capacities.
Finally, we apply some of these results in order to obtain the sharp
isoperimetric inequality on manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature and
Euclidean volume growth up to dimension 7, up to now known only in
dimension 3.

“Serrin-type theorems for domains with disconnected boundary”
*Abstract:*
We prove symmetry results for solutions to the torsion problem on domains
with disconnected boundary. Time permitting, we discuss their relations
with the uniqueness theorem for the Schwarzschild-de Sitter static black
hole in general relativity.

Title: SQG driven by Space-Time White Noise: An Approach using Regularity
Structures
Abstract: We show the existence of solutions of the 2D dissipative surface
quasi-geostrophic equation driven by space-time white noise. Solutions
will be obtained as a limit of solutions to regularised and renormalised
equations. Therefore, we give a short introduction into the theory of
regularity structures and show how the renormalisation procedure is done.

15:00--16:00 David Rydh (Stockholm): Derived blow-ups and deformation to
the normal cone
Abstract: I will describe the functor of points of blow-ups and
deformations to the normal cone using derived algebraic geometry. One
application is a natural and easy construction of virtual fundamental
classes and virtual pull-backs. Another potential application is to Kirwan
partial desingularization and the generalized DT-invariants recently
constructed by Kiem, Li and Savvas. This is joint work with A. Khan.

16:30--17:30 Roberto Pirisi (Stockholm): Brauer groups of moduli of
hyperelliptic curves, via cohomological invariants
Abstract: We use the theory of cohomological invariants for algebraic
stacks to completely describe the Brauer group of the moduli stacks H_g of
genus g hyperellitic curves over fields of characteristic zero, and the
prime-to-char(k) part in positive characteristic. It turns out that the
(non-trivial part of the) group is generated by cyclic algebras, by an
element coming from a map to the classifying stack of étale algebras of
degree 2g+2, and when g is odd by the Brauer-Severi fibration induced by
taking the quotient of the universal curve by the hyperelliptic involution.
This paints a richer picture than in the case of elliptic curves, where all
non-trivial elements come from cyclic algebras. This is joint work with
Andrea di Lorenzo.
